There are many "Fuck Yeah" blogs out there for nail polish and nail art, but I haven't seen any for franken polish, so I decided to make this. Franken polish is essentially nail polish that people mix on their own. I do not own most of these, all posts will link back to the original. I may include some indie polish also.

Full sized bottle previews

metametics:

Group shot of the currently available full sizes! Mm, glitterbombs.

If anyone runs a nail blog, hit me up! I’m looking to send some samples off for review :) I’m also planning on hosting a giveaway at some point in the near future, but I’m trying to decide exactly how I want to do it. It would have to be US only unfortunately, since shipping nail polish internationally is pretty, uh, not legal. Thoughts?

starryearth:

Treasures Untold is a sea foam green base with light purple hexagon glitter and red square glitters. It’s the 4th polish in my Princess Collection!

Blue foil franken

I don’t remember exactly what I put in this, but I started with half a bottle of CoverGirl Silver Lightening, a silver foil, and added various blacks and blues until I got to something I liked. 2 coats, no top coat.

acaciacatalina:

The franken I made to give my sister! It’s supposed to be her wedding colors, but the base came out a bit more purple-y. Doesn’t really matter because it’s beautiful!

glitterdammerung:

I do not frequently wear reds, but when a coworker gave me several nail lacquers she never wears, I saw a bottle of Continuous Cranberry Revlon Colorstay and knew it was a perfect candidate to franken a red I WILL wear and have been searching fruitlessly to find for years - a bright and shiny lipstick red jelly with a fine red glitter shimmering through it.
Don’t let this photo fool you - in real life Jelly Baby is a true pin-up girl cherry red, and the glitter, while still very subtle, is more visible. Also visible is my nail line, but such is the case with jellies and at least I’m rockin’ shorties at the moment.
Three coats, under butter London PD Quick Hardwear topcoat and over Gelous basecoat.
